The Historical Evolution Of Hand Chain Hoists

Leave a message

The prototype of the hand chain hoist can be traced back to ancient Rome, recorded in the architectural manual of architect Vitruvius.

In the 15th century, jib cranes appeared in Italy, solving the steering problem, but still relying on manual labor.

The invention of the steam engine in the 18th century provided power for cranes, driving the development of lifting machinery. Modern hand chain hoists have been continuously improved upon based on this foundation.

The related industry in China began in the 1970s, with numerous family workshops repairing and refurbishing hand chain hoists emerging. By the end of the 1970s, this had grown to over 300 workshop-style individual enterprises.

In recent years, the industry has seen technological innovations, such as the introduction of intelligent control modules, the use of new alloy materials, and innovative production processes, breaking through the traditional technological bottleneck of "only able to go up, not down."
