Maintenance Methods for Hand Chain Hoist Chains

Leave a message

Before using a hand chain hoist, it should be carefully inspected. Check for deformation or damage to the hook, chain, and shaft; ensure the pins at the chain end are secure and reliable; check the transmission mechanism for smooth operation; verify the braking mechanism for reliability; and check for chain slippage or slack. Also check the lubrication of the transmission mechanism and lifting chain for good condition; ensure the gear guards are intact; check for cracks or obvious wear on the sprockets; check for broken or cracked links in the chain; and ensure the hoisting ropes and support beams are sturdy and stable.

Before operation, ensure the weight of the load is within the rated load capacity of the hand chain hoist. Overloading is strictly prohibited. Ensure the hook is securely fixed in a safe and reliable position; the lifting chain should be suspended vertically without any twisted links.

1.After use, clean the hoist thoroughly and apply anti-rust grease. Store it in a dry place to prevent moisture, rust, and corrosion.

2. Maintenance and repair should be performed by someone familiar with the hoist mechanism. Clean the hoist parts with kerosene, and lubricate the gears and bearings with grease. Prevent unauthorized disassembly by those unfamiliar with the machine's operating principles.

Regular maintenance of the hoist is essential. Rotating parts should be lubricated promptly to reduce wear and prevent chain corrosion. Regularly clean oil and debris from the sprockets and chain to prevent jamming. Severely rusted, broken, or cracked chains must be scrapped or replaced; do not use them as substitutes. During maintenance, avoid getting lubricating oil on the friction blister packings to prevent self-locking failure. Clean the machine parts with kerosene annually.

3. After cleaning and maintenance, the hoist should undergo a no-load test to confirm normal operation and reliable braking before being put into use.

4. The friction surfaces of the brake must be kept clean. The brake system should be inspected regularly to prevent brake failure and the uncontrolled falling of heavy objects.

5. For the rollers of the left and right bearings of the lifting sprocket of the hand chain hoist, grease can be applied to the inner ring of the bearing already pressed into the journal of the lifting sprocket, and then installed into the outer ring of the bearing on the wall plate.

6. When installing the braking device of the hand chain hoist, ensure that the ratchet teeth and pawl mesh well, and that the spring controls the pawl flexibly and reliably. After installing the hand chain wheel, rotate the hand chain wheel clockwise to press the ratchet and friction plate onto the brake seat. Rotate the hand chain wheel counterclockwise; there should be a gap between the ratchet and the friction plate.

7. For ease of maintenance and disassembly, one link of the hand chain is an open chain (it must not be welded shut).

8. During oiling and use of the hand chain hoist, the friction surfaces of the braking device must be kept clean, and the braking function should be checked frequently to prevent brake failure and the load from falling.
